A Short History of the Arlington and Little Falls Railroad
Background
I have always been interested in trains. I think it goes back to when I was less than a year old, confined to a playpen, and my not-quite-two-year-old brother reached over the top and dropped a small, cast-iron, locomotive on my head. Apparently, that innocent (?) act made a REAL impression on me.
The Arlington and Little Falls Railroad and its host gardens combine two of our favorite hobbies, model railroading and specimen gardening. For us, the railroad is a part of the garden rather than the garden being part of the railroad.
ALF is not a miniature railroad with buildings, vehicles and people. The trains on our railroad are integral parts of the garden, in essence, they are moving flowers.
